Common Sense Rules

  1. The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
  2. Be aware: Watch what's going on around you at all times.
  3. Paddle to the side, not right where others are trying to catch waves.
  4. Don't be a snake; don't cut off others and take their waves.
  5. The surfer nearest to a wave's peak (in the best position) gets to ride the wave. The other surfer should pull out.
  6. Don't crowd other surfers, especially as a beginner.
  7. Don't send your board towards others, leash or no leash.
  8. Safety comes first. If a wave will send you rocketing toward a struggling paddler don't take that wave. Wait for another.
  9. Be friendly and have fun.
